Our founder Sally Ward brings a wealth of experience and a heart full of empathy to our mission of helping the homeless in the Algarve. With a background as a Case Worker for the homeless in Oxford, UK, she witnessed firsthand the struggles and challenges faced by individuals without shelter or support.

Upon moving to the Algarve with her family, and helping at the Soup Kitchen in Portimão, Sally was struck by the undeniable need for assistance and advocacy for the homeless community in this beautiful region. Motivated by her deep-rooted compassion and a desire to make a difference, she founded AGAPE Homeless in October 2024 to address the pressing issues of homelessness and poverty in the Algarve.
